Guest conductor Sara Jobin rejoins the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players for this Gala closing to our 40th Anniversary Season. Jobin will conduct the West Coast premiere of Beat Furrer’s Spur, for piano and string quartet, as well as a new ensemble piece from Bay Area composer, Berkeley professor, and former SFCMP Board member Olly Wilson. Terry Riley will be our special guest at a performance of his 1964 classic In C. For this piece, Jobin, members of the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, and a consort of our Players’ own top students will convene around Herbst Theatre in what is sure to be a riotous closing to a spectacular 40th anniversary season.

This concert begins at 7:30 p.m. There will be a Gala Celebration event in the Green Room following the concert, open to all concert ticket holders.
