The ensemble looks forward by looking back in this concert of music by composers whose work has been influenced by the spectralist movement of the last century. David Milnes and the ensemble have a “dialogue across the years” with legendary filmmaker Jean Vigo as they provide a live soundtrack to a screening of Vigo’s classic 1930 film. Gérard Grisey, Olivier Messiaen, and the looping reels of a tape deck all provide inspiration for other works in this magical evening where the past, present and future meet.
Composers François Paris and Alessandro Solbiati will participate in a pre-concert talk, moderated by David Milnes.
$28 general, $23 senior, $10 student
